I have a question for people that have modified an Oliver 88 with the following changes:
- Super 88 crank offset ground to 4.5" stroke
- Oliver 77 connecting rod with 1.940" bearings
- 4.375" Dodge 400 big block pistons
The Oliver 77 has 1.25" wrist pins and the Dodge 400 has 0.990" wrist pins. Does someone make custom rod bushing to address this issue? Does the piston have clearance to work with a custom bushing? In addition, with the sleeves people are using is there only an 0.125" thick wall between the piston and the water?
Thank you for any input.
