Manifold length vs torque

I have a Farmall B that I pull when I can and it has a 133 cid engine. It has some port work done to the head and a good Valve job.
I have a 140 manifold on it. It has a short throat (3/4 of a inch)from the Carb mounting flange to the split where it goes to the head. I have a stock Super C manifold that has 2 3/4 inch throat from the carb to the manifold split.
Which one would be better for bottom end power. At 10% I can only run 1705 rpm.
Thanks!

I would sure try the super C. A 240 or a combine probably better yet. Better yet find a speed shop that knows about acid! You can gain a lot of volume that way. Vic

The longer your intake runners are, the lower the rpm at which peak power occurs. Search google for intake runner length calculators! I've personally seen dyno results with consistent #'s showing the effect very clearly....tuning to a specific "pulse " is most effective, however any lengthening has this effect.

Gonna stick my neck out on this one but I don't think you'll ever see the HP difference between the two cause of the length difference. If there are differences that would increase the flow, maybe, but at the rpm range these engines run as compared to auto engines where most of the testing is done I think it would be insignificant, How far can you move the torque curve on an engine that runs 2000 rpm if that, depending if you're pulling rpm limited classes or not.
