MSD question

I have a MSD 5 on a 1936 JD A it has a electric fan and water pump, no fan shaft or generator. My question is how many pulls can you guys running the same set up get. I pulled it a couple of weeks ago and by the fourth pull it was missing pretty bad. I don't know if my battery is getting week or if that is all I can expect and bring two batteries.

MSD boxes take a lot juice so you could very well be running your battery out volt. I would suggest putting alt on it and if you think it pulls to hard put a switch on it and shut it off when pulling turn it on when you are not pulling.

Leroy is right. Even though I have a alt, I run my tractor up to the pickup and throw the jumper cables on it to cool it off. Cools off a lot faster not running. And running the truck gives you a cool place to wait.

I have mine hanging underneath tractor and run it off crank shaft pulley.
