Looking for a real good stromberg nar9, and possibly a 7700 combine carb or something comparible.
Thanks Travis

Did you read my message. It clearly says I'm looking for the nar9 and a 7700 carb. I want the 7700 carb for another project. Thanks for the advice

don't care-aircraft carbs the way to go,but dont do it because you wont take advise and are thick headed.but if you ever do I can say I told you so...

Dude isn't the NAR9 carb an aircraft carb?? Why don't you have Baker set you up with a carb? After all you posted a lot of posts bragging about your tractor...

Dude you are right it is an aircraft carb. I don't recall doing any bragging, and if I've offended you with my posts I guess you shouldn't read any more of them.

believe it or not i've had a nar9 on it, but the carb was junk so I used the one that I have. Turns out it needs some work and parts are hard to find. I'm in the process of locating a better stromberg to put on it now. You are right though I've been called thick headed before. Not sure how I wasn't using your advice though. I have never understood why people don't use their names on here though. At least your first name.

thanks again for the advice.

Before spending more money or time I suggest discussing your requirements with Treadwell or Motec and get their feedback. I wound up buying a carb from Treadwell set up for my application and it ran well out of the box. It didn't cost a whole lot more than the numbers being thrown around here.

My $.02
Good Luck

Hey Travis- I have a carb that supposedly came off a 7700. I would sell it very reasonable, but I don't know how to tell what it is. It was on a G705 that I changed back to LP. I need to get that hub puller back to you guys sometime anyway. Let me know what numbers to look for on that carb, and we'll get together.

Still haven"t used it! Got the tires mounted up, but haven"t swapped the hubs yet. Hope to do it soon..

You are right about that and I have a call out to Motec hopefully they will call me back and point me in the right direction.

Travis, a friend with an 800ci Case used to run an aircraft carb, I'll ask him what it was. I know he always said it was a 4 venturi carb.

Those Stroberg NAR-XX carbs are great, but with a venturi that large and these poor flowing tractor heads it's hard to get enough signal to make them work well.

I know it's for a big Case engine, but I've got a feeling that a #9 is going to be simply to big. Yes it'll run and it'll make power but I bet you'd be better off with a little smaller one unless you're running verry high RPM, the engine just won't pull hard enough to make one work at low speed there won't be enough airspeed and it's going to fall on it's nose.

I've had various carbs on the flowbench to see how much air they really will move and tested a lot of different modifications to the Zenith carbs like the 7700 combine. Even a #6 Stromberg will move more air than just about any of the Zenith's with a lot of modification.

Just say you're 900 CID at 2000 RPM, those Case heads are just not going to allow for a verry high volumetric effieiency rate. I bet a #7 Stromberg will work better than a #9.

I also have a brand new Stromberg NAR6B available, that will support way more than any of the Zenith's will.

Thanks for talking to my dad today. I think you helped him figure out what he wanted to do.

Thanks Travis.

I have enjoyed reading about your building your tractor and in no way have seen anything that looked like you where bragging. Hope to see it run I think you said you where going to Shumway look me up. Leroy Brave
