It is perfectly acceptable to run the 30 series oval muffler from a 630 or 730.
No loss of power and the tractor will be stealthy.
Unless operating in an unlimited class. straight pipe operators and owners of pickups with stacks are insecure about their little p*nises .

Its kind of like Nascar. You build a motor and a chassis and try and make it work better than the other guys, but the noise might be the best part of the show. Nobody would go watch car races if they ran mufflers. 3mph antique tractors arn't that exciting to watch as is. If they all had mufflers, nobody would watch.

Thanks for replying. I was struggling with this topic last night and didn"t know how to respond. Wasn"t sure how p-nises were related to strait pipes! Besides why the hell would you run a muffler? I run strait pipes. Guess I have a small p-nis according to this jack wagon!

You are looking for attention by making noise that isn't making the tractor pull farther.
Straight stacks are recognized by mental health experts as being a phallic symbol.

I have been struggling with how to reply to as i run a straight pipe too, then i had to pee and i couldn't find it and i thought the peni$ Guru was right, but then i remembered it was in the other pocket whew!!!!. I guess all the nascar teams run open exhaust so they don't make to much power so they can go slower LOL, Chuck

I have tried it both ways and couldent see much difference with a muffler or with out, mabie if the straight pipe was chrome that would make more power! I run a straight pipe because I like to hear the compression bark my tractor makes. I didn't know It had anything to do with the size of my dick. Guess you learn something new everyday!

On a stock 190" JD B we dyno'd a 530 oval muffler & 2 different straight pipes back to back. A 28 hp tractor put put 29a with the muffler & 23 with straight pipes. Even adjusted timing & carb but couldnt get any more hp. It depends on alot of factors. Try a straight pipe on a two stroke &to see how well that turns out. Theres a reason new cars have resonators in addition to cats & mufflers.
