one more m question.....for now

Been looking for a 450 cam and a lp manifold for my m. I think I read somewhere that all new m cams have the 450 profile with the left hand thread nut and x (?) Suffix. Is this correct? If not what am I looking for? Also who makes reproduction lp manifolds?
I guess that was more than one question but thanks in advance all the same.

I would recomend having your cam ground for a pulling profile. Won't cost much more than buying a new 450 cam. Be sure to degree it correctly. Steiner Tractor Parts offers repo LP manifolds and will ship.

If you are running 264 cid then don"t overlook the governor. Most old M"s with wore out governors when you put them on a dyno you have to pull them down to about 450 pto to get peak hp. A good governor is very important especially if need all the horsepower available. The people on here who really know how to make the farmall governor "sing" will not tell you how to do it. I have figured out how to shave the weights and make them reach peak hp at 540 but I still can"t make them as good as a Thompson Rock-It.

Thanks for the help so far guys. This tractor is going to be used for farm work to but qs far as the governor goes I have heard a good spring and shaving the weights down to 90 grams and to make sure the pins and bushings are good and tight. This sound right?

stiener offers a reproduction lp head and manifold, i put the manifold on my stock M and gained around 3 horse, stiener also sells a new 450 cam that is resonably priced, just bought one and going to see how much power i gain
