I am currently in the planning stages. I am thinking of either a powerblock or a murphys block along with a extreme or murphys head. Was wondering if anyone has one of extremes new heads yet? Are these big valves and runners? I am thinking you do not want to go to big in the head department or you lose low end correct? Do they flow bench their heads? Also compression ratio, was thinking 9 to 1 to keep low end lugging ability or maybe wrong on that? Like I said planning stages but trying to get some ideas together.

With my experience 9 to 1 won't get it done. Your giving up Alteast 10 hp already. Depending what block you use will determine what head you need. I would choose Murphy's block and head if you have the green stuff. Give me a call if you want to bs. I can supply you with all and any parts you need. Reliable parts. 989 277 5366

One more thing... Torque is in your cam ad cam timing.

josh what is a good cranking pressure? im running my a at 250 psi.

235-255 depending on cam and size. I ran an a that was blowing 290+. Still made a lot of torque.

Don"t forget torque is in your rod ratio too...
