Which Massey Ferguson

Been thinking about getting into antique tractor pulling. I like Massey Fergusons. Which model should I be looking for to start off in the Pre-1960 farm stock class? Or should I look for a JD or Farmall which seems to be what I seen running at the fair I went to last fall?

I seen some really good massey 65S at Richmond Ky.Dont know what they done to them but am sure if you talk to some engines buliders down that way you can get some info. They proably had 6 or 8 down there and there done very well.

I have a Super 90 diesel stripped down to 4600, can get lower if the turbo is off. Always wanted to try an 85 as most were 1959 where my 90 is 1962. A 65 or 85 gas would need major engine work though but would be interesting to try. Look up Dunlap Pulling in Missouri, they have several Masseys they play with. 50 diesel, S90, 1080, 1130, 1155s too.

A friend and I are building a 40 Ferg or 50 MF now. Should be a runner, the head has 8 ports. A 65 is the easiest, just find a 4 cyl diesel from a 410 combine. If I remember it is a 315 cu in. Vic

I would love to know what you guys are doing to the MF 50/Feguson 40. I currently have a 65 that is pretty competetive. Give me a call...859-588-2433.
