With my experience 9 to 1 won't get it done. Your giving up Alteast 10 hp already. Depending what block you use will determine what head you need. One more thing... Torque is in your cam ad cam timing.

235-255 depending on cam and size. I ran an a that was blowing 290+. Still made a lot of torque.
