Ok guys how about a class of small diesel tractors? Say 4250 lbs. 250 cid, small turbo 2 in dia. 2 valves per cyl.No P pumps 3000 rpm18.4 x 30. With no age lmit.

This would alow tractors from ALIS to ZETOR. You have could 10 to 15 tractors and not see the same brand twice.

zetor.

Chuck-
Sorry I hadn't had a chance to reply to your earlier post.

I like how you're thinking outside the box, but the 250 doesnt limit color but it does limit models within the color to me. 5700#, 360CID, 2.3 charger, With the rules worded in the right manner you would have the ability to use basically off-the-shelf Cummins Hi-Po parts with any rearend and sheetmetal out there, except for Deere.

I got a chance to talk to Brandon today about the KTPA 4750# Open class. I am going to go back over what's been said already here in the forum and what notes I have from the conversations Ive had with folks along the way.

Here's what's chiseled in stone: Steel Flywheel. Blanket. Kill switch. Side shields. Wheelie bars..18.4x38's any cut. Have not decided on allowing radials (need some ideas on that HINT HINT...)
Anything beyond that is a work in progress, and based on some of the suggestions made it could make for a very interesting and fun class.
As soon as they post the rules I'll let you all know. KTPA is looking at 8-10 events with the open classic classes, with Greenville/Powderly KY being one already noted on their schedule in June. We're a few short weeks from the beginning of the season so keep the ideas coming. Thanks for everyone's input.

Yes Bryan this would limit the models, but so does 360cid. the class you mention is already in place. What I have in mind is a whole new class, the tractors in this catagory probly will make 150 hp + or -. Most of them turned 2500 to 2800 rpm. They came on 28" or 30"wheels.

Chuck-

I see where you're getting at here, there's a bunch of tractors not pulled now that fit close to that CID. I still think the CID would work a little better closer to 300 than 250 and I admit it's because I bleed blue and would want a 7000 Ford in a class like that. Good thoughts Chuck, appreciate your thinking!

Bryan

Ok how about a Ford 5000 it is 233 cid. The 7000 is 256 cid. Your color, size is right. Bet the ex manifold will fit.

No. At this time trying to work out the class. Hope to get some place to pull. You say you are building a WD. Where are you located?
