Here is a picture of the turbo on my 4020. It fits under the hood, the exhaust comes out in the center of the hood. The only thing I don't like is the exhaust elbow sticks out of the hood a bit.

I got a 4230 i"m wanting to turbo. Did you just use stock JD parts? I was going to do it with 4440 manifolds and turbo, with a 4320 elbow.I was told that would keep the exhaust in the same hole.

It is all John Deere parts. As far as the 4320 elbow on the 4230 hood, I don"t know. Go over to the John Deere forum and ask TimS, he will know. I would do a search of him and his turbo installations. He has posted some nice pictures on there.

Looks good... did you machine down the manifold a little to get the turbo to fit under the hood??

I guess the TO4 fits under the hood without machining the manifold.. You could find someone to weld flange on the exhaust housing and just use an exhaust pipe elbow..
Always wanted to try an hx35 one one..
