gasket and bearing Kit for rd 501

hey i was wondering where i could find a whole gasket kit or bearing kit there has to be something out there i see too many tractors run those engines?
 
You wont find new main bearings for these engines. However, you can go to your local NAPA and get fel-pro set# HS7953S. Its a head set for the 450-501 engines.
 
thanks, i had heard that 5.9 cummins bearings where close is there any truth to that? if so what all has to be done to make them work?
 
Sam Winer surplus military in Akron,Ohio has a RD 501 valve grind gasket set on ebay now, item# 220708379622.
They may have other parts available.
 
i got a set of rod bearings std never out of box id sell cheap,started a rebuild n went n different direction,call 270 231 3651 if interested
 
I just got done putting an rd450 together this afternoon thats going in a w40. watch out for the nos army gaskets on ebay. They are for the early engines and the water jacket holes dont line up, one hole towards the rear of the gasket is a hole and needs to be a slot. They may work im going to try it. Bearings seem to be out there in nos form but there a b-tch to find and new ones arent avalible threw a parts store. cam bearings and lifters for a 1206 fit the red diamond engines. lots of luck!
