Carb installed just need the fuel line hooked up and an air cleaner. We got the cooling system all plumbed and hooked up. Governor is on and should be ready. Now to put the oil pump in and put the pan on, and some wiring and it will be ready to start [Reply]   [No Email]

A friend of mine has a 800 cube 900 gas 5 1/8x6.5, it ran really well at 3000rpm with a dsl. manifold, bumpy cam and a big carb. He slowed it down to 2000, re-cammed it and put on a governor and smaller carb.It didn't have good torque and had to fabricate a manifold with smaller runners (you would have to know this guy as it looks exactly like a cast manifold) It gained a bunch of low end. I realize in the natpa world you don't have much choice for a Case manifold if you are going to pull with them. I guess someone needs to make a good flowing manifold and come up with a bs story about it like the MM guys did. I am not sold on Bullet cams in these engines. The one in this 900 has reversion issues and makes the intake extremely hot, much more than the heads. [Reply]  [No Email]

I've used a lot of different cams and seen a lot of different cams run. Bakers have by far been the best. Baker and sonny have different cam profiles and durations. This motor is 5 x 7.5 and that is the 1030 diesel manifold. I"m not sure what the carb is off of, its pretty big though. We pulled a DC for many years that was 4.625 x 7, and it ran great. We won a bunch with it, but then the rear main failed and trashed the block. Its still sitting in the corner waiting for the day that we put it back together to run again. I"ve been toying with the idea of making it into a farm stock type pulling tractor, but we will see. [Reply]  [No Email]

Gary did the cam in this motor I believe. That 470 inch dc we had ran real good. I can remember the pull that the block cracked, it pulled all that day but didn't sound right. Also have an intake and 4 bbl, and an intake and an alcohol fuel injection system forsale, If anybody is interested. Also have complete 579 cube in. Case 6 cyl. NA super with double disk clutch.
