farmall m weight

nothing noticeable, cause every tractor will have a diff. weight due to fuel and amount of fluid in tires, or wheel weights.

Farmall M weight : Weight: 4858 lbs
Farmall Super M weight : 5,603 lbs
These figures are located on http://www.external_link/farm-tractors/000/2/9/295-farmall-super-m.html

There are weight differences in different year models due to the amount of iron used in castings and the housings. An exact same farmall M can have different weights the only difference being the year it was produced.

disk brake assembly on the super mite be heavier than the band brake M. list every option differences between M and SM, and you could see some difference in weight. 39 Ms r lighter than a 51 M.

Guess I'm asking the difference, if any, between a 51 and a 53? Gonna be a puller. No belly pump, no live pump, no belt pully, no pto, no air cleaner, etc, etc.

Any difference in rear end, clutch housing, frame rails, front end?

Difference in brakes would be less than 50 lb?

I have a '49 M and once had a '53 Stage II Super M. The weight difference might be 100-200 lbs. if the tractors are equipped the same. Factory brochures listed weights are 5080 lbs. for the Super M and 4909 lbs. for the M.

some differences in the rear end is, on the M, the bull pinion shafts use heavier brg cages, vs the super m using a flat plate. the bull pinions are heavier in the super m, longer n bigger diameter. transmission shafts,, maybe larger diameter in sm. the crankshafts in the older ms werea small journal, vs the sm-450 larger journal crank, but dont know if they weigh the same or not, maybe 3-5lbs heavier? flywheel n clutch can possibly weigh differently between M and SM. Old Ms used a pressed steel gas tank mount vs a cast iron mount. could also be a slight difference in the radiator weight in late super ms. Bolsters, in stage 2 mite have the same upper bolster style as the 400-450 and there a good difference there. yours being a 53, it should have the same as a M. im sure there is alot more changes n weight differences in alot more parts, these are some that comes to mind. hope this helps.
