I reconized that Case steam engine at Rollag Minnesota it is a 75 horse power Case with Montana sand wheels which means the rear wheels are wider than normal for flotation in the sand now when i say its 75 horse power that is 75 steam horse power at 160psi it takes 10 diesel horse power to make 1 steam horse power the engine indeed power out due to it got caught on one of its two dead centers now if this engine would have been double cylinder or a double tandem compound it would either have pulled the load spun out or brake the chain or torn the drawbar off the engine and I've heard of them blowing the bull gears out

My father told stories of when he was a young man, using his families steam tractor that they used to run a saw mill, to pull a 2 room house across a field to a different location. I use to not totally believe the story but when i see things like this, I BELIEVE DADDY I BELIEVE!!!!!!!!

We were at Midwest Old Threshers in Mt. Pleasant, IA over Labor Day weekend. They pulled steam engines as well. Imagine if a gear broke with the wheels up!

The big sawmill at rollag mn has two steamers they drive in and one big stationary case steamer to run it

I can stand there and watch it sing all day!

The best is when they sub in the big 40-72 cross engine case gasser

The best time to hear steamers bark is during the nightly spark shows!

A lot of steamers exhibition pull at the National Threshers show a Wauseon, Oh. It often seems the Russell Steamers look like the most "entertaining" pullers, they usually get their front wheels up and really "strain their guts out" pulling because they're geared slower than most of the other brands. A big Reeves puts on quite a show too, and all makes are something to see if you apppreciate tractor pulling at all.
