Bald Bluff pullers

I haven't pulled with them for a couple of years, but when I did they started at 3500 and went up 500 pounds at a time. They may have added a 3750 class, but I'm not sure. I hope to be pulling with them again this summer if all goes right. They are a great bunch of guys and have some really tough tractors that pull with them. You should give them a try.

They start at 3750. Been trying to get them to ditch that and have a 3500. They said "Yeah, we"ll do that." Hasn"t happened yet.

We use to have a 3500lb class but we kept having fewer and fewer tractors in it. The lightest class was increased to 3750 so that there were more participants. Classes of one tractor are pretty boring. If you want the 3500 lb class whoever you are, bring it up at the meeting this spring and it can come back. Rusty Melhouse

Hello Rusty,
It was brought up two years ago at the meeting for the Hancock Pullers, at that time they switched from 3750 to 3500. It got to be the same tractors pulling in the 3750 and 4000 lb class, so it was pointless. The gentleman that pulls the DC Case was there (from the Bald Bluff club) and said that they would follow suit.

At the same time I don't get to see all the pulls but it seems like from what I've seen, that a 3500 lb class would benefit them. There were several Oliver 60's, Farmall C's, VAC Case's and such(at that time) that either had to pull light or put on 600-1000 lbs to meet the weight of the lowest class. It seems like the lighter classes are getting more popular in some places. Easier to store, easier to transport. I haven't been to very many pulls recently, has there been much interest shown in the Bald Bluff area?

We're thinking about going to Sigourney this year as spectators, will you or your dad be there?

The group I run with mainly has Farmall C's and couple of B's and a Super A.
We don't have really any pulls around us other than a The Pontiac Threshermens and the Will County Threshermens reunions.
We are looking for a place to play once in a while and have some fun!
3500lb in not a problem and I have pulled my Super C in 4000.
Drop me a Email. [email protected]
Thanks!

I am not sure when the spring meeting for Bald Bluff will be. I have not received a mailer yet, but we should discuss going back to a 3500lb class. I am all for throwing fewer weights as well. If it will get supported then by all means.

I am sure dad will be @ sigourney w/ the A, but I will be out of the country that week. This will be the second yr in a row I missed it. It is a great pull though. Rusty
