Observations on tractor pulling

One thing I"ve noticed about tractor pulling pictures. If the guy grits his teeth and makes a strained face, his tractor will go a LOT farther. No true operator will fail to do this. LOL...slim

Another thing that helps is a thin wallet as it helps to start with a thick one.I still liked it when a lot of the farmers would bring their tractors right out of the field to our county fair and pull for whatever the entry fees were or less and have a great time and talk about it till the next year.People still enjoy knowing the driver. It used to be same in local jalopy races every body had one and it was fun and then the money took over.

I know a guy that must burn a couple hundred calories per hook the way he moves around lunging forward and back and working his jaw. Maybe it works because he has about the highest win ratio around, but I think that it has to do with his wallet thickness too.

My secret is to wear my cap backwards...You know the old rally cap!! Shucks now everyone will know why a 54 year old wears his hat like a teenaged punk!

Nothing better than an "Old-Time" tractor pull..!!

Who cares if they pull down and quit...it was as if they were still out in the Field...!

Afterwards, they went back on the Farm and went to Work..!

Yeah I was one of those young whipper-snapplers that had a 423 in his U Moline. No one understood till they brought a dyno the next year. Vic

I sleep in the shed with it the night before and we listen to johnny cash.....in the morning I tell it a couple of old war stories.

It takes care of the rest.

Would not make a difference, if the only prize was a ribbon....!!!
"Don't mean Nothin" in this kind of pulling....

Like using an old "Step-on Sled"...!

It's ALL in and for FUN...

It reminds me of how my dad always complained during women's tennis matches on TV. The women would always grunt or scream when they hit the ball. I was less focused on the noises they were making and more on the physical attributes of the competitors.

Much different than tractor pulling. Sometimes my hat will go on backwards. The G forces of accelerating to 4mph are intense I guess. It helps to swing from left to right depending on which side of the tractor is getting more bite. My 160 pounds moving around is less effective than others' 300. The antics of cement pulling are much more entertaining.

These guys use the SOOT method......check out the hole the SKID dug at the very end after unhitching :)

(quoted from post at 08:56:00 01/06/13) Two words: lean back

So does that mean you are leaning back when all you can see is sky? I always figured that when my fronts are off the ground that all my weight was on the rears.
