Did your kit come with the paper on how to troubleshoot it?I can check out in the shop if you dont have it . They are usually about indestructable except if the battery is overcharged to about 18volts. I learned the hard way my charger didnt shut off.

no paper engine builder installed ignition. new battery, not been on charger. thanks for any help

Sorry for the slowness, anyway I have assumed you have a 12v - ground system so here is how it should be hooked. The power coming from your ignition switch needs to be hooked to the + side of your coil as well as your red wire heading into the module. The black wire from your coil needs to go to the - side of the coil. If all that is correct and still no spark install your voltmeter(this may sound wrong) red lead to - side of coil and black lead to a good ground with the module hooked up. Have your buddy crank the tractor and read what the meter says.0 volts is a wiring problem. 1 to 3 volts is a bad module. What you want to see is a fluctuating signal between 1.5 and 12 volts. Hope this helps, Tom

Chunk it in the garbage and put in a new set of points with an MSD box... Problem solved. Even if that crappy pertronix did work this time, chances are that it will take a dump at the final points pull of the year as you are backing up the sled.
