You should talk to Goldsburg on this forum, I'm sure he checks in to see what's going on here and his general knowledge and in particular his experience building big Masseys is extensive. He did some computer simulation work for me on a Case project a few years back and was very accurate. I'm sure whatever your needs he has a combination that will meet them.

I myself has been looking to find economic ways to build a 44. Just cant see spending 1000...2000 when I had to spend 6000 on my kids teeth for braces, so its back to head gaskets and valve seals and sew it back together.

I would start with the head (assuming the short block is solid) and carburetor. I agree with Mel, contact Goldsburg.

I have many parts,new head,bigger valves,M&W high compression pistons,4.062 inches,block,three tractors,new gaskets,rings,4 inch piston,new take outs,all to go cheap. 507-341-1013.

Where ya get high compression pistons that doesnt cost 600.00 bucks for 4. Can you get bigger valves, or take them out of something else?

just start with some 350 Chevy pistons you can get for free and spend $500 modifying them and the rods to get what you want. Bolt some plates on the top of the piston and you'll be good.

:)

If you can replace your 5:1 pistons for 11:1 pistons for $600-$700 plus liners and gaskets, that seems to be cheap horsepower to me.

Remember, sometimes you get what you pay for.

Also, if horsepower was cheap, everybody would have it.

Those 44 pistons on your website look good Ray. What compression can you build them too?

Thanks NorthPuller,

I can make them whatever compression people want, I usually shoot for 10-11:1.

Working on a 4.5" stock stroke MH44 right now. Got the motor late last week. I see what people mean when they say the head Sux on these...

Hey, I had that idea too! I live in the same neck of the woods as mEl, and he and Goldsburg both mentioned you as a possibility for 4.5" slugs. That DC4 of Jerry"s is stout!
