Honda Civic Rad. in 77???

Was reading in a earlier forum that someone had used a rad. from a Honda Civic, said it worked fine. I was wondering what they used to make the inlet and outlet hoses fit, because the rad, is 1 1/8 in and out. The 77 is 1.5 in 1.75 out. Not sure how to make this work? Any help would be great Thanks.

I'm running an electric pump, so I just removed the thermostat housing and water pump and welded up new plates/covers with 1 1/8 outlets. I lucked out and found hoses that worked at the parts store.

I know of a guy running one on a 4010 jd and it seems to work fine for him. No longer than it will be running down the track i dont foresee any problems.

Honestly, I'm still building my tractor. However, my thoughts are that if the radiator was built to cool a 150-200hp (or more) car, it should be more than enough to cool my 100hp tractor, especially the way I'm going to be using it.

I used gray plastic barbed adapters from the hardware store, and went to my local auto parts and perused the rack for a hose with the right bend.

Just so you dont move the coolant through too fast. I removed the thermostat and installed a plate with two 1/2" holes drilled in it to limit the flow.

(quoted from post at 08:57:09 12/14/12) I would think the 1/18 in. hoses would slow the flow by themselves?

I think that it is assumed that you would be using 1.5 and 1.75 hose adapted down close to the radiator.

Hey Showcrop I was unable so far to find the right adapters in the hardware, everthing goes by the 1/4 in, the rad. on the civic is 1/8, so I have to get from 1 1/8 to 1.5, and 1.75. haven't found any thing in the 1/8 size to use, any ideas. Thanks.
