Has anyone taken a 400 block with a 4" sleeve and bored it to fit a 4 3/8 sleeve from an 830 block? thanks |

| Probably a better option for the average man, my son and I have the machinery to bore blocks so boring is a good option for us.
There are differences in the oiling systems flow that would require a 30 series filter base to be used but otherwise a 30 series block is a bolt in. If you have to buy a 30 series block then it's probably gonna be a tossup.

I have a 730 block running with 4 5/8 sleeves in it and can see no reason why the 400 would not accept 4 3/8 if not 4 5/8.
