Wd 45 Stroke

if you do 5.5 you will have to cut out sections of the oil pan and weld cups on it. that being said, i dont think 5" is enough to bother with a welded crank. you can get 4.875 with an offset grind and buda rods.
 
Yes you can. also i have an allis puller with a 7" stroke and the only clearance work i done was in the block which wasnt much.

dont take this as me saying you dont have seven inches of stroke cause you may have but if you have left the mains in the original place then you have had to do some major clearancing . here is a picture of the oil pan rail on a 6 inch stroke .
