Band brakes vers. disc on oliver 77 ???

I am wondering if I can change my disc brakes to band to lighten tractor, if so how much less will it weigh? Thanks for any help/////////// P.S. How much work is involved if this can be done?

I have discs on mine and the weight has not been an issue, our club wont allow the 77 under 3750 anyway. but I will always take a disc over a band anyday. you could put aluminum covers on if you are really needing to drop weight.

The rearend housings are casted differently between a tractor with factory disk brakes & one with factory band brakes. I have made the outer cover on a disk brake setup out of aluminum that will lighten you a little bit and it will make your brakes not so grabby.

Make your own disc brakes with lightweight motorcycle rotors and calipers with wilwood master cylinders,My GVI is set up that way works good and nice to use as steering brakes also..not grabby.
