recentally purchashed a new farmall 450 head to use for pulling and have come upon a problem, for the oiler tube that runs across your rocker arms to oil them there is only on side on the head where you cant screw that into. there isnt a spot on the other side to screw the other side of the tube into? why is this ?is this a flaw that the other side of the head didnt get drilled for this?or do i need different rocker arms and an oiler tube for this setup? i have the longer valves for the head. any help would be apricated! thanks

thats a crankcase breather. M-MTA have a line that runs over to the stock air cleaner that hooks up in the back of the head. 400-450, vents thru the valve cover. so get a 400-450 valve cover, or add it to a M valve cover. not an oil line.

the tube you are talking about under the valve cover on the later heads should have a short 1/8"x1 1/2" pipe nipple screwed in it.You do not use the one that goes across the rocker arms that you are referring to. The short nipple keeps excessive oil from feeding down to the governor linkage. To much oil there without the nipple will cause an oil leak around the shaft that controls the carb.
