What are your thoughts about a Firestone F151 16.9x38 on an 18" wide rim and would anybody happen to have a rough measurement as to the height of a F151 16.9x38 full cut on a 18" wide rim? Also if anybody has some pictures that would be good to.

you would definitely lose height, and would need a tanker truck load of air in them to keep the middle from cupping.

Im with ray tellin on this one. I have full cut 16.9-38 BFG's on a super 77. I started out with 18 inch rims now im down to 14 inch rims and thats where they work the best here in Iowa soil. In diffrent soil conditions mabie wide rims work but not here.

Thanks everybody for your comments, opinions, and your pictures 6pack. They are greatly appreciated and I have decided to go with some 16" wide rims. Again thanks, and if there is anything I can do to help in the future I will certainly try to.

Forgot to mention, mine are 6 ply, I know 8 ply tires like a wider rim, but I think the 6 ply in lighter classes work better....Good Luck

Give em a try on 16". play with air pressure, my Dad had some deep treads and the Only way the pulled good was with 5PSI. Those were 8 ply 18.4x34 on 16" rim

Thanks for the pictures Ray. If I'm not mistaken the Field and Roads are not as wide as the Field and Road F151's correct?

I had a pair of SAT's on 18" rims and now a set of DT's- the DT's are MUCH happier on the wide rims- the SAT's would have been better on 16", I would say 151's are comparable to the SAT's
