Division 3/4 says no Oliver 99 or Massey 1100 style head.... Is there any guys pulling a super 99 six cyl waukesha, only ask because I found a gasser 99 that could be fun to play with in 5500-6500

Well of course they can there deeres and farmalls. But dont you dare have a MM or oliver with a factory head on it that is "unoproved"

That's always what I thought was a joke about NATPA rules. You could tell what brand of tractor the rule makers pulled when they formed the NATPA.

A legimate 99 oliver gas is 100% legal in any division, however mixing and matching parts from people such as Ray is not. I didn't know he was such an expert in antique tractor pull rules

I got some pictures of the 99, looks like it has had water sitting in engine, intake has cracks that need to be welded, it would be a sin if the head was beyond repair, would the 195 or Massey 1100 head be considered a replacement, same guy claims he has another complete gasser from a 950 or massey, but wants another $1500 for it,

i am trying to talk wife into going to Princeton IN. With my 88, what is rpm rule for 4 or 5 mph class?

well answers Ray makes a good point like that bogus 4 cyl MM manifold, the IH recast heads and manifolds and the recast jd parts while other colors are stuck with what was original like the lp manifold for a 6cyl. Case that a mouse couldn't crawl through!

When did I claim to be a rules expert?

Anyone have a good answer to why 88's can't the 195 heads?

"Answers" says you can't mix and match parts but a gleaner engine in a WC is ok? Or how about that Deere with the power block?

The rules seem pretty bias don't they?

Take it easy on ray tellin, hes not a bad guy. Im starting to think this is a cage fighting sight not a tractor pulling sight!

your not stuck with a stock manifold. Make a replacement and sell 12 of them that is what NATPA calls a legal replacement. At least thats what they use to require. They also took care of the 99 oliver by limiting the wieght it cant go under 4500#. If you cant beat it outlaw it Go NATPA.

Sorry for stirring the pot on a hot topic, did not want to start a war.... Just thought asking on here would be easy, I got contact #s for NATPA rules guys.... When I find out the Skinny, I will let you all know

I have pulled natpa and I have won natpa classes so back off. I plan on going to a few of their events this year but that doesn't mean I agree with them 100%. There's more than 12 bad a$$ 600 and 900 Cases pulling and if what you said was true I think somene would have done it along time ago.

I used to pull NATPA pulls in western NY we ran a 88 in Div IV,Built a 77 and was told I couldnt pull below 4000 Div IV,I said why? AC's were running 3500!!! 77 came with a 194 engine stock, smaller than a stock AC AND shipping weight on a bare 77 was less than 4000lbs!...We quit pulling NATPA and just stayed at our local pulls,It's not like I wanted to run Div II classes with it.I can understand weight restrictions in any class but open,.....The one guy told me to just build an AC..LMAO.I think USAP has the best rule system and the group that does the White Pine TN pull also. Here in NY all the rules are different depending on where you pull sometimes its hard to adapt.

I'm pretty critical of the NATPA and anti-MM rules, but when it comes down to it, Oliver gets hit hardest.

It always seems that when the factory built a good part that bolts on my MM, but remains illegal, I'm told "Hey, go cast your own and sell a few!" I don't have to. MM got a lot right the first time. I don't know about Case. I've seen some good diesel manifolds and late heads/blocks that will bolt on 4cyl gassers, but not sure about 6cyl. I'm anxious to see Baker's Case 400 run.

How long ago did NATPA Have a Pull in NY?

I've Pulled with them for 10 Years and the Closest they Ever Been is Tallmadge OH !

Or Was it NATPA Stile Rules?

Cliff,Late 1990's up till about 2002 was our last year pulling out that way,Junius Ponds had the NYS championship for a few years then I believe it moved to Locke.I think now they use Alliance rules but I am clueless as to them and how they differ from NATPA.....It was fun and they liked use till we started to win,Guess we wore out our welcome..lol
