I have a 45 that I want to pull once in a while and still use on farm for anything. Can someone tell me what some mods are that are reliable that I can do. I have been looking for a d17 or e motor but not found one yet. I have heard of 407 IH rockers and automotive pistons etc. But singling it out what can I really do to make like 60 horse. Will a 170 cam intake and carb work?? Any help is greatly appreciated in advance. I just want a toy to play with next summer at home and on track |

| Look back a few pages, there has been a lot written on this subject. That said, one of my future projects is a WD45 I want to take to plow days. (they are a competition yes) I am going to go with a regular overhaul kit, then stroke the crank to 5 inches. That should bring my compression up to 12 to 1 or so. Run it on E85. Big block Chevy ex valves for intake valves. Also Chevy springs. Leave the exhaust valves alone. Send your clutch pressure plate and disc to Darrin Rusch (spelling) Also I will dowel pin my intake and port match it. I have a carb from Mo-tech that flows 30% more and a cam from the guy in Washington. and a late governor spring. You get the picture. I think I will have 75 hp. Should pull 3-14's in 3rd anywhere. Also 18.4X28 tires and 4 sets of wheel weights. |

| Thanks guys. But what really did they change from the 45s to the d17s and 170,175 anc gleaner Es to get such a variance in hp with all the same cubes. So if I got all 170 or 175 stuff. Pistons, intake, cam, carb, head. I would be in decent shape as far as maybe 60ish hp. Thanks |
