Has anyone tried counter boring the head to let the pistons come up out of block about 0.150" on a Oliver 88-1650 9 port head? I have a crank and rods and want to stay away from custom pistons, and will use automotive pistons... Bore would be 4.310"-4.375" area....Thanks

You can use a thicker head gasket..... or mill some off the pistons... or both.... Ona a stock 88 head, you can mill about .100 off of it safely, so that will give you atleast .100 fot fly cut the the head.
