| Nice looking 77, does yours have disc. brakes? I guess if I keep taken things off I will get in the 3500 class. Looks like you found a way, and still looks close to stock. Thanks for any help. |

| You can go to weld on hubs and cut off your fender brackets and loose around 80 lbs. |

| | I didn"t think 77"s had two different tubs. The Super 77 has a little heavier tub. I can get mine in 3750 lb class pretty easy with about 150 - 200 lbs to move around. It has pressed steel on both ends, two smallish weight brackets. No PTO, belt pulley or hyraulics. If I take the weight brackets off I might get into 3500 pound class. So I suppose to go lighter you have to start using aluminum |

| Where are you at currently with the tractor weight and how light are you trying to get? What have you already done to lighten the tractor? Narrow or wide front, cast or pressed steel front and rear wheels, etc. |

| | Build a light weight wide (actually quite narrow) wide front end for it. Use a fabricated mounting plate for it with a rack & pinion steering system. Replace the stock steering shafts with hollow high strength steel tubing and light weight universal joints. When you down to the last few pounds, convert to hydraulic disk brakes. If that doesn't do it change to a steel flywheel & lose roughly 40#. You may find an aluminum radiator another good investment unless you are running a dry block engine. When all else fails, time to hit the gym and push away from the table early. |

| 3500 pounds with a 180 pound driver and two 100 pound IH weights on the front. 16.9-38 BFG tires, band brakes with a super tub. solid axils, welded hubs, ect. The 880 olivers are down to 3500 so my 77 must be FAT! |
