John Deere 80/820 diesel twin turbo unlimited

A neighbor and I were talking at a pull this weekend and he told me about a John Deere 80 or 820 that used to pull at the state fair. He said it had twin turbos and you could watch the driver close the waste gates father and farther as he went down the track.

Has anyone ever heard of this or does anyone have pictures?

the purpose of a wast gate on a turbo is to limit the amount of boost it makes. When the waste gate only slightlyopens, the turbo DOES NOT produce any higher pressure. So If the driver opened the wast gate at all, it would kill the boost and the tractor would stop pulling.

I understand what a waste gate does, I was in a hurry, I will go back and fix it.
