You have to change first gears on the top and bottom shaft and the reverse idler gear. Also some 460 utility 340 tractors and maybe others in the series have different ratio gears and ring and pinions ratios that will change speeds. 504 ring and pinion will slow all gears down a good bit. Farmall 504 without high speed first and reverse gears has a 20 driving a 59 first gear compared to a 26 driving a 55 on the 300. Rear housing tear down and parts replacement required.
