Oliver 88 Head

I am looking to get some more air flow into my Oliver 88 Diesel and I have heard some guys talk about putting 4-digit series heads on those motors instead of opening up the stock heads. I know there is very little room open the stock one and I am not looking for major motor modifications. Just wondering if it is a bolt off and bolt on change or if there is more to it. And also which heads would fit over. My dad has an 880 gas with a 4-digit head on and that is why I thought maybe the diesels would match too.

(quoted from post at 18:33:28 07/03/12) An 88 diesel will match up to a 1550, 1555, and 1600 diesel head i believe.

Not quite. A 1550 and 1555 is the same as a 77. The 1600 and maybe the early 1650 (Lanova injection) will bolt on to an 88 block.
