Dead weight Pull

Looking to start a pull in our local club. Whats the common weight that is pulled? and how far do you keep back most of the spectators? this is in an open feild and would be standing and maybe 1 set of bleachers.

In our area they start out at 2750 lbs. and go up to 7500 lbs. or what ever weight classes you have the ability to stop with the weight available for your sled.

How Far should we keep the spectators back from the track?????

I would say better safe than sorry , but then all of the years I have puuled in a dead weight pull there would only be a handful of people around , but you never know you won't be running kill switches , and hitch could break. I would think 50-100 feet minimum .

We are roughly 75 feet with a fence in between. Our classes 2500 3000 3500 4500 5500 6500. Usually takes 4 hours to do the show.
