Carb for JD B

I am in the slow process of building a JD B.
It will have a heisler head and a power block bored over, cam ground and stroked to around 7-7.5. Can I use a stock A carb 71 or 53? Or do they need to be made bigger?

I have an engine similar to what you are building and have used the following carbs, a 51, 71 and a 67 which was modified. The engine ran fine on all of them using E-85. The main thing is get someone that knows 2 cyl carbs to rebuild it, I like the work done by Mike Shelby.

It all depends where you want your power range. 71 will run good but could use a little work.
