Centerline of the crank to the top of the deck (my idea of deck height), measures exactly 11 inches on a 283 block.

Thanks Mark, should the 194 engine in the 77's be the same height?

These olivers are cheap to build just match everything up out of the chevy catalog!!!

My gut would tell me yes

194 has a 3.75 stroke. 265/283 has a 4 inch stroke. Can't see Oliver changing deck heights in 1/8th inch increments to accommodate a 1/4 inch stroke when they could do it so easily with wrist pin relocation, or rod length changes. Especially when they had no packaging heights to worry about to speak of... IE total height of the engine.

Run this question past the group on the Oliver board, see if anyone bites. I've got a few Oliver blocks around but none that started as a 193.9, sorry, my friend
