Building a mild 310 and have a couple ?
Can I bore the original sleeves to 4.0"?
If I use 77 rods and offset grind the crank how much stroke can I gain?
Will 77 rods fit sbc or sbf pistons (bushed down on the pin)?
I will have roller rockers and just some clean up on the heads and intake. What compression is reasonable with out using racing gas all the time?
This will be going in an 88 15.5 151s top cut
Pulling 4500-7000lb. classes with a 3.5mph speed limit
Plus classes 4000-6000lb classes with 4.5mph limit

I have an extra 310ci. gas block and crank if you where to ever need one. Some have used John Deere sleeves and cut down the outside diameter to run 4" pistons. Theres a lot of information about this subject in time past so type 310 or 7- main or something related in the search bar and it should bring up a lot of posts.

For reference, I had previously used 2" 77 rods with a 5.125" crank in a 7 main engine. The cam required some notable clearance work (slabbing) to make it swing.

with the deck height of 11.3
stroke 4.75
bore 4.0
rod length 6.75 (77)
what would be a good piston compression height
would like to be 10 or 11:1
have to be 2300rpms
also what should i do with cam? custom grind?
