MM G rod dimensions

I got my Massey 55 rod out and it is 10.500 center to center with a 1.500 pin, 2.75 rod diameter and a 1.800 rod width. Anyone know the width on the g moline rod? 45 degree cap or straight cap? Shortening my piston height 1.500 would help alot with getting custom pistons made.

Thank you,
Kyle

A G rod is a straight cap and the wrist pin is 1.25" if my memory serves me correctly. As for the width? I know it's narrower than a U, but I'd have to measure when I get home.

Well I guess I am looking for more options for fixing a gas 55 Massey Harris.

engine is

4.500 bore
6.000 stroke
10.500 rod length
1.500 piston pin
2.75 crank pin, 1.800 wide

piston pin to top of piston is 3.625 and overall height of piston is 5 15/16, not many options to replace those pistons.

La Sleeve has or can make sleeves, but last I checked they were $200 a piece. My sleeves are worn too much to just hone and put wider top rings or groove inserts in my pistons.

Longer rods would give me more options in pistons and they would be cheaper so if a 12" rod can be made to work it gives me another option. I'm just trying to come up with a good way to fix my engine and I have two to do.

Thanks everyone,
Kyle

403 would most likely be a JD403 continental diesel, I have seen them put in 55's and also converted to gas. Change the head, take the injection pump off, add distributor, carb and away you go.

M&W also made some .125 over pistons and sleeves for them which is another way to get to 403. I haven't found any in usable condition though.

It's a gas tractor, he's using a carb off of a 4020 JD along with a adapter to make it work. Pulls like a train in the 8100 lb.and 8600 lb. classes.
