Cut tires Question

Ok so I'm looking into Pulling in a stock class and they allow tire cutting. Not full cut though and I have a tractor that I want to use that has tires with about half the tread left on them. Should I just pull it the way it is or should I try and cut them? I seen one guy said the older and harder the better so I would like to use them. The lugs are just a little rounded off though. I wasn't sure if that would hurt performance. The rule as written says " No full cut tires allowed. No restrictions on top of lugs. Must be a distinguishable line at back of lug befor the casing." I'm just worried that if I "cut" them they will say I messed with the front of the lug.

Thanks for your help and patients with a newbie!

just grind on top of lug to get rid of rounded off part look what other pullers tires look like and go from there

Or you could hook front of tractor to something solid and spin tires in reverse. Works great for sharping front edge.

What I used to top cut an old set of tires was an electric plane. It kept the top of the lug flat and even. It works real well.
