John Deere Govenor Question

I have seen where guys put more than one govenor spring on a two cylinder. What does it do?
(does it just make it rev up higher or does it do something else)
Also is there any other tips or tricks that can be done to the govenor?

extra spring just opens it up faster kinda like not having a govorner like your pick up is only other trick ive ever heard of is put lighter weights in make it respond quicker for instance put a weights in a g and b weights in an a

Hate to burst your bubble on the different weights, but look in a parts book...they're the same weights same part number. If you really want to change the weight of the weights, use a small scale, and drill holes in the governor weights to make them lighter. My son did this and it worked well.
