Can a M5 moline make 4500 pounds?

I was wondering if anyone has got a M5 down to 4500 pound class with 18.4x38 or 16.9x38 tires?

Yes. How bad you want it? Ignore Unstylish. He don't know nothing (joking, i have to raz him). Unstylish and I were just discussing it. M5 and 5-star are nearly identical without the cosmetics. Tranny is a tad heavier but castings and gears interchange. M5 replaced the 5-star that replaced the U models. M602 is also quite similar. M670 is slightly different in casting appearance, but internals can interchange somewhat. Unstylish has a 5-star that weights about 4600# and the sheet metal is a bear on them. It would be easy to do an aluminum M5 hood.

A few years back I ran an M5 the Super Stock Class in NC. I ran 23.1 x 34 tires on steel wheels and with a 200lb driver (not me)it would weigh 5200lb. Fiberglass nose and aluminum hood and instrument panel. It was pretty tough then but I'm sure everything has advanced and it wouldn't be competitive. But with almost 700cid it was lot of fun (and work). Good luck!
