2 cylinder pulling carb

I was wondering what carb I will need to power a 6.125X9 jd A with a heisler. It has a dltx 18 on there now, I was told if I buy a 71 or even a 51 and that either carb will still need to be sent away. My question is can a #18 carb be made into what I will need it to be/can you take that carb that far? I would rather have the carb I have built instead of having to buy another carb and have to have it sent away. This is a build on a really tight budget.

any suggestions/help will be greatly appreciated

Thanks
Jake

Robert's Carb Shop advertises being able to get a DLTX 18 as big as a 51. I can't answer whether or not this is enough to feed your tractor but thought I would pass that note along. Their number is 712-262-5311.

I called Robert's about 4 days ago to see about getting a 51 oversized for pulling, and they told me that they are behind on their stock restorations, and not doing carb modifications at this time. Hope this helps you decide what to do.

It depends on which mannifold you have, if its a cold gas or an original a manifold i would say the stock carb would work fine, however if you really want to add power murphys makes manifolds for As that will accept 2 barrel carbs from newer generation deeres, $$$$$$$$$
