How Much Bore For Farmall M?

First is a farmall M the same block as a 450? How much can you bore this ?, and how many cubes would thi make? thanks for any help.........

so this M had a c281 block in it? or a stock M motor

A 248 block you are usually safe at 4-1/4", a 264 and 281 block you can go 4-3/8" but you really should sonic check them to make sure you have enough cylinder wall thickness.

Well it came from Bakers shop so it ran pretty good. At 696 cubes I think he has exceeded what the head can flow. Beduhn ran it for a year then it went south some where.

4.25 is plenty for the 248. Cracked one already. Went to a 264.
