I have a mini gun with a .8 mm tip, I want to apply some PPG epoxy primer. Is this a waste of time. I do have regular HVLP gin with a 1.4, but I am just doing parts and wanted to spray lower volumes.

Gun is a Power Fist sold in Canada by Princess Auto, cheap gun and no loss if it is useless.

I wouldn't shoot epoxy through a .8. I
might try 1.2, but my go to would be 1.4.
I guess you don't have much to lose
though.

The parts are cast, so finish is not critical, I m getting to the point of needing to start painting. The shop line spec recommends 1.4. Nice to save product if I can.

Thanks for the response.

You're gonna need to overreduce the epoxy and put on 3-4 light coats. And be sure to allow enough flash time for them to evaporate the solvent before the next coat.

Sounds like it would be easier for me to use the 1.4 gun, keep the recommended mix ratios and waste a little bit more paint. Too much effort cleaning the parts and prep work then to be worried about using a little extra paint.

Thank you
