Im going to spray rim after I sand out all the runs and rust of an older rim with 11.2x36 Goodyears mount.
How do you keep the spray off the tire ? Use grease ? Tape ?

I normally will shrink wrap as much of the tire as I can and tape the rest.

Found out about a product by 3m , its has tape and plastic shrink wrap all in one . Thanks for the tip

I let all the air out of the tire, then with tire irons I ease the tire down just enough to put file folders in the gap, I have a set that I keep that already has the correct radius out in them, makes it very easy to get them in. In the past I have also used cheap playing cards and 3x5 note cards

I took an old aluminum license plate, trimmed it in a circle to match the rim curve, and slide it around as I spray. Works perfect. BTW, I spray Rustoleum Hammered aluminized looks good, all the drips and runs I make make it look like galvanized.
