Plastic base

They directed me here from the tools forum. Have got a black plastic base from our local fire dept that is broken. No identifying marks. Can I repair this with fiberglass? Looks is not important.

How that I can see it I would recommend pushing the parts back into place and plastic weld it. Then on the underside where it doesn't show roughen the plastic and put a patch over the crack with fiberglass cloth and use epoxy for plastic for the resin. Plastic welding isn't very strong and needs re-enforcement. I put a car bumper cover back together in this manor and the repair held up better than the rest of the bumper in the next wreck.

That almost looks like a fiberglass reinforced plastic. If you can see the glass fibers in the broken sections, any good epoxy-for-plastic should work well.
