Manfold paint

I used the POR-15 exhaust manifold paint. It is expensive but one 8oz can will do at least three manifolds. You need to read and follow instructions.

Many years ago VHT properly applied from rattle can worked well.
Part of the process meant baking it in the oven if I remember correctly.

Preparation is the key ,following either can instructions will yield good results . I prefer brushing in many cases that way only get paint color where I want it.

My experience - - either way, over time the manifold will return to an un-painted look.

However, painting manifold makes a fresh restore/paint job look a Whole Lot better. Once tractor starts showing its work clothes again, manifold kind of goes un-noticed. Look nice for awhile was all I was ever after. Either way can atleast accomplish that much, if done right.

Either the oven or start the engine and let it run for a certain amount of time . Thats how I did the stack and manifold on my 4020 its actually held up pretty good although I havent worked it hard enough to get the flame coming from the stack since I painted it but the can claims its good for 1200 degrees

I tried some spray-on from KBS coatings, which I bought at Hershey. It's satin black and still looks good but with not much run time on an antique car. they have several colors as I recall.
Some of the high-end classics had porcelain coatings originally and they can be redone but they don't seem to last long; the temperature change and expansion and contraction makes it flake off.
