I have A model 17 new idea maneuver spreader I am looking for the paint codes for a factory match or a or as close to factory as possible

Is there any places on it where the green and red paint are fairly good? You can sand the paint with some 400 grit paper and put a clear coat on it. Then a paint store can computer match it. Just sand it enough to remove the oxidation and get down to the true color. It looks like the wood may have been a fire engine red and the green looks like it may have been a jade color.

Thats a great idea thank you very much

When I take a part to get it digitally analyzed I clean it with soap and water and brush then with rubbing compound.

Took my samples to Sherman Williams to scan . Used nos parts for samples of color. Sherman Williams scanner is 95 % accurate.
At first I was sceptical of the the bittersweet orange. Painted the wheels and I knew I made a mistake. So I ask my daughter in law what she
thought. She said it looked very close. Ugh!
I left it !Have to Tell you that this paint darkens with age and surface conditions viz.
I dont like the Allis chalmers orange looked way off. Never tried .it. Use to ride by the Allis-Chalmers new idea dealer going to school , there
a big difference . Always remember it . In fact at first I disliked the bittersweet orange of new idea, Today I like it now . What you like is all
that matters !
You can get new idea green and orange from Tallmans Ag specialties , have to ask for it. In fact I would do it, now cause I like how well it
brushes on .
Thats my thought on new idea color and application

When I was painting my Ford 901 the correct color which is called "orange red" A friend stopped by and looked at it and remarked "I thought that you had Fords, this looks like an Allis Chalmers" I got it out in the sunlight and then it was red.
