I used electrolysis on most of the Ford 600 parts that I?m restoring. Primer and first coat of paint look great. I need a 2nd coat. Did I mess up not doing 2nd coat as it flashed dried? I don?t want 2nd coat to shrivel when I put it on. I got talked out of using hardener but tsc sprayed on paint has dried fast. One day

It's the paint from Tractor Supply in Michigan. It's call MAJIC brand, it's their normal line of oil based paint. I know a lot of people don't like it but the price is right for what I need to do.

That is just a common alkyd enamel. After overnight drying just scuff sand it with some 220 or finer grit paper and put another coat on. There is no recoat window to worry about. With that paint it wouldn't have been a good idea to put a second coat on while still tacky. Each layer needs to dry completely or it would be gummy underneath for a very long time.

I've never used the Majic paint. It has such a bad reputation I was afraid to try it after using the Valspar tractor paint I got at Tractor Supply. You could almost see it fading daily. The last time I painted I used the Rustoleum Tractor and Implement paint and it's holding up very good for an alkyd enamel. It's been two years and there is no noticeable fading. I'm sure if I held a fresh sample up next to it I could see a difference but you can't expect too much from cheap paint.
