the last few weeks been working on a replacement cab for my youngest son 07 2500, we found a good undamaged cab that was black and we are doing some other body panel replacements and he asked if I would mind changing colors, I told him if that's wants he wants to do now the time to do it. sanded, primed and 3 coats of paint inside and out. going to put on trailer this coming week and put in one of the back sheds. as I need to get ready for harvest and then we will pick back up after that. he picked a 1997 royal metallic blue, a ford color. tried my new paint gun and I need to do a little work with the tips it sprayed good but I think I can get it better.

Takes a lot of work changing cabs, I did a few in body shop but usually on larger in the 2 ton sizes. New from factory, one even came with interior painted and with dash and seat but nothing else, usually because of rollovers.

I'm planning something similar with my '98 Chev. I have the donor cab completely stripped and ready to start sanding and see how much rust there is. So far rockers seem solid, might just have to do a cab corner........or two. Mine is pretty much completely rotten but mechanically very good. I enjoy this type of work but have a hard time finding the time to do it. Was supposed to start last winter but we renovated the basement instead. This summer it's a new horse barn....maybe this winter.
Looks good!
