What do you use to seal off areas while blasting

Green painters masking tape is good to close off ports and protect areas you don't want sand blasted. Be careful about blasting with engine covers off. Sand will get in places you can't see and can cause engine failure. Been there, done that.

Sand will easily find it's way through masking tape. Like everyone else I almost never blast around anything where there is a place where the media could cause damage. In the rare case where I have I cover it carefully with duct tape then apply RTV silicone to the seams and the ends of the duct tape. It has worked well.
